Circus Trees is three sisters from Marlborough MA, all in their early teens, who have been playing together for a number of years in various forms of family and friend bands. In 2017 the sisters chose to break off on their own to form this band, seeking to make music that would resonate with others who have suffered in pain and loss and confusion. Writing lyrics and musical hooks far beyond their years, the band has developed a local cult following for their dark and mysterious live sessions, their grinding post-rock shoe-gaze sound, and the ear-crunching volume levels at which they play.
We make music that doesn’t fit with our age, our gender, our living conditions; we are young, we are sisters, we spend our lives in the wastelands of suburbia. Our songs are of pain, sadness, and loss; our music drones, grinds, floats. We make this for us, and only us, but revel in the joy of sharing this with those who get it, feel it, and are touched by it.Come sit with us, gaze off into nothingness, burn through a day of sadness; we would love nothing more than that.Come, be sad with us.
